Community Insights: Issue 3

We identified 1.4 million students across 60 institutions to learn more about those who attend part-time.

These students juggle school with work, families, finances and other life-and-logistical complexities. Emerging trends show opportunities for retention efforts to meet them where they are. Here are highlights from our report:

  • Just One More Course. 60% of institutions have part-time students that are taking 1-3 courses. Advising some students to add just one more course — not a full-time load — can improve outcomes.
  • Minding the Gap. The persistence gap between part- and full-time students varies widely across the country. Learn what some institutions are doing to help narrow that gap.
